Karat (KT) tells you how much of your jewellery is pure gold. The scale is out of 24 — so 14KT means 14 parts out of 24 are pure gold (58.5%), while 6KT means 6 parts out of 24 (25%). The remaining percentage is a durable alloy, typically silver and copper, which makes the jewellery stronger and more wearable. Every Aurlet piece is crafted in solid gold throughout the entire piece, not just on the surface.
Not in terms of quality or authenticity — only in gold content. A 6KT piece is still 100% real solid gold. It contains more alloy, which makes it harder and more resistant to scratches than higher karat gold. For everyday wear, 6KT–10KT gold often proves more durable than 18KT or 22KT gold. The ideal karat depends on your lifestyle and preferences.
BIS Hallmarking is India's official gold purity certification system, regulated by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). It confirms that your jewellery has been independently tested and certified for purity by a government-approved assaying centre. Every Aurlet solid gold piece is BIS hallmarked for your confidence and assurance.
HUID stands for Hallmark Unique Identification. It is a unique 6-character code assigned to each hallmarked jewellery piece. No two pieces share the same HUID. You can use this number to independently verify your jewellery's authenticity and purity through the BIS Care App or the BIS website.
Locate the HUID stamped on your jewellery or listed on your Certificate of Authenticity. Open the BIS Care App and enter the HUID under "Verify HUID". The system will display the registered purity, assaying centre, and jeweller details. You may also verify your piece directly through the BIS website.
Solid gold means the entire piece is made from a gold alloy, with the karat indicating its purity. Gold-plated jewellery has only a thin layer of gold applied over a base metal, while gold-filled jewellery has a thicker bonded gold layer over a core metal. Aurlet creates exclusively solid gold jewellery and does not offer plated or filled pieces.
Pure 24KT gold does not tarnish. Lower karat gold such as 6KT–14KT contains strengthening alloys that may develop minor surface changes after prolonged exposure to chemicals, moisture, or sweat. These effects are superficial and can be removed with proper cleaning. With regular care, your Aurlet jewellery will retain its beauty for years to come.
Each Certificate of Authenticity is unique to your jewellery piece and includes the HUID number, gold karat and purity percentage, gross and net gold weight, alloy composition, gemstone details (if applicable), SKU and invoice reference, and Aurlet's BIS licence information. It serves as your official proof of authenticity and should be retained for warranty, service, and future valuation purposes.
